Fingask Castle is a privately owned estate situated in Perthshire. Dating back to the 16th century the castle has been owned (despite being confiscated by the Crown at one point!) by the same family for more than 400 years. Unlike some other venues, Fingask Castle does not double up as a hotel, and you and your wedding party will have the place all to yourselves.
The great lawns, ancient trees, an immaculate topiary garden, numerous eclectic statues and magnificent views all combine to provide a secluded country atmosphere a mere 15 minutes drive from Dundee airport (and about one hour from Edinburgh and Glasgow.)
The grounds are also the site of a holy well, St. Peters Well, which is in the dell below the castle, and has been a place of pilgrimage since the days when pilgrims would land at Port Allan on the Tay to walk to the shrine of St. Queen Margaret at Dunkeld. Eminent visitors have included James VIII in 1716, Bonny Prince Charlie in 1745 and even Sir Walter Scott. Fine company indeed!
Stay in one of three private cottages on the estate and have the experience of a lifetime.
Dine privately in the gorgeous library or drawing room on estate venison and wines from the Castles’ own cellars. Or, for a bigger party arrange some evening entertainment in the long gallery upstairs, with its beautifully pained ceiling and period furniture throughout….
