The romance of the Scottish Highlands mountains and glens or the Scottish Lowlands castles is not the sole preserve of the starry eyed young bride and groom. There can be no finer place for renewal of your wedding vows than the romantic Scottish wedding venues with whom we at Highland Country Weddings work so closely.

Couples who are already married - for one year or fifty! - can take the opportunity to publicly reaffirm their love and commitment for each other in a vow renewal ceremony designed especially for them.

Renewal of the wedding vow has no legal obligation attached to it. It does not involve registering the marriage again with the state, nor is there a specific form of ceremony that you must follow.

Your choices are almost unlimited:

  • It can be religious in tone, and performed by one of our ministers.
  • It can be designed without any reference to religion and performed by a non-religious celebrant or official representative of the Humanist Society.
  • You can design your own form of ceremony and speak your own words, jointly and together, in front of witnesses and guests.
  • We at Highland Country Weddings can help you design your ceremony and even help you create your own, special renewal vows (see example below).
  • And if you wish to combine the ceremony with a wedding anniversary celebration, as Scottish wedding consultants with all the experience we have of organising weddings in Scotland we can arrange accommodation, meals, pampering sessions, transport, sightseeing tours… anything you wish to make this an unforgettable way to say 'I love you'.
